Spring Break day @ the zoo.

Today we all went to the zoo. Alaina has spring break and since Kim was going to take the kids, mamaw, granny, and uncle Matthew (on spring break himself) went along.
It was a beautiful spring day! We had a really good time. Everyone got worn out as but not one fit or crying spell the entire day. I took a few pictures with my phone so we could put it here on my blog and have some great memories to share with everyone.

Winter fun with the 3 oldest grandkids.

We have had a lot of snow this year! On Saturday pap and granny decided to brave the cold and take the 3 big kids to Clifty to sled. It was about 40 degrees so it wasn't bad at all and the snow was good and moist so we could make snowmen. Everyone had a great time. Now COME ON SPRING!

Mad Scientist!

It was our night to take Cameron, so we picked up Alaina too and went to a program called "Mad Scientist". There were tables set up with different things for the kids to do. We started by cutting newspapers to make trees, then cleaning penny's in vinegar and salt, adding clear finger nail polish to wet colored paper floating in water, blowing up a balloon and sending it for a fast trip down a string and exploding color into a bowl of milk by using dish washing liquid! It was a lot of fun!

Mom's 76th birthday.

Friday the 12th of February was my mothers birthday. We celebrated by going to dinner as a family at Grindstone Charlies. As I was growing up we used to have a Gene's bakery here in town and they made big smiley face cookies. They were my mothers favorite! A couple of days before her birthday a friend of mine just happened to post the receipe on her facebook page and so Kimberli and I got together and made them! I can't however take any credit for icing them. I had to work so Kimberli did that on her own. They were AWESOME!

Nathan's Medal

Nathan as you know is in the Navy. He has been out training for the last month. The final day of training he received this medal. It is the highest award you can receive without being in combat. They gave it to him for excelling in his field and going above and beyond the call of duty!!! We are SO PROUD of him!

Daniel's turn

On Saturday we (pap & granny) took Daniel to breakfast and then to the park all by himself. He didn't seem to care about breakfast but when we went to the park he loved it! It was a beautiful day but there was water on the slides and puddles from the last weeks rain. He didn't seem to mind. Here is a picture of pap and Daniel heading in to play.
